I Love Logan Square is Postponed
Logan Square Neighborhood Association (LSNA) has made the difficult decision to postpone our fundraising party, I Love Logan Square 2020, indefinitely in response to the COVID-19 health crisis. Above all, it is of utmost importance to our team that we keep our community and our stakeholders like you safe.
Because we are faced with the uncertainty of funding and a 25% deficit in our fundraising budget from the cancellation of our largest fundraiser, we turn to you, who have attended our events in the past and generously supported our work. We understand this new reality has impacted everyone—we ask that if you are able you consider supporting LSNA during this difficult time. We do this because we know you love Logan Square as much as we do.
Even amidst funding uncertainty and the COVID-19 health crisis, LSNA continues to organize and advocate for resources to support individuals, particularly those who might not have access to the type of support the federal government is offering, including immigrants (particularly undocumented immigrants and Dreamers), low-income community members, and youth. We are also working closely with our partner, ICIRR, to participate in an ongoing virtual advocacy campaign to support immigrant justice. In addition, we are currently repositioning our outreach efforts for the Census 2020 and finding new ways to engage with the hard-to-count communities we serve, while we continue to work toward our long-term goals of quality affordable housing, education equity, and immigrant justice in a new way. Finally, our Parent Mentor Coordinators are checking in with over 100 local Parent Mentors twice a week to share resources and to alert our staff of the struggles people are facing so that we may respond.
But now, more than ever before, we need your help to continue our fight during this crisis. A donation to LSNA today would mean that you directly help pay our staff to continue to organize at city and state levels and supplement our usual funding sources while we recoup from the COVID-19 crisis.
Finally, LSNA has received a multitude of resources over the past few weeks and we want to share them with those who need them most. To learn more about what we are doing to help our community during this crisis, please see our regularly updated COVID-19 response page.
Thank you for your support of LSNA. We can't do our work without our donors like you, and please know that we are dedicated to supporting our community and our neighbors no matter what.
In solidarity,
Nancy Aardema
